She works from her Boat in Bristol but is originally from Preston in the Northwest of England. Maria's last big job involved her touring with The Lion King as Head of the mask and puppets department. As an Artist she enjoys working with many materials to draw, design, create, build, develop and finish props, costume, puppets, painted sets, sculptures and apparel to excite the senses of any audience. Maria loves being able to change from one material to another working on various projects to keep her hands busy, no matter how messy the job. Working from her small print studio \u2018Drawn Surface\u2019 nestled in the green hills of Hebden Bridge she loves nothing better than the beauty and versatility of the hand drawn line. Rowanna\u2019s work has been featured in the Sunday Times, Style Magazine, Vogue, BBC, Channel 4, Redbull and Selfridges to name a few. With a keen eye on environmental and political global stories and challenges Rowanna is always looking for an opportunity to communicate and educate through her work in this area. Having spent her childhood in the Caribbean she is drawn to vibrant colours, bold designs and patterns with imperfect symmetry.
